On May 15, 2024, the Parliamentary Municipal Dialogue Forum "Housing for Internally Displaced Persons" was launched.
It is organized by the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the Protection of Property and Non-property Rights of Internally Displaced Persons and Other Persons with the support of the USAID COUNCIL: The Next Generation Program.
People's deputies of Ukraine, representatives of the government, local authorities, territorial communities, public organizations and international partners take part in the forum.
Vadym Popelyuk, a lawyer, lawyer, partner of the S&Yu investment law company, takes an active part in the forum.
During the forum, participants discuss:
- updating the legislation to provide housing within (displaced persons (IDPs));
- dialogue with the municipality: access to housing for IDPs;
- financial and credit mechanisms for realizing the right to housing of IDPs;
- implementation of housing projects by international partners.
Out-of-town meetings are also planned, during which the participants will communicate with internally displaced persons, and on May 17, a meeting of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will be held, which will discuss the work of local authorities, the results and prospects of the E-recovery program, and ways to improve legislation on housing for IDPs.
