The indicated possibility of buying Ukrainian agricultural land can be implemented by obtaining a second, Ukrainian, citizenship.
Thus, on January 16, the law on multiple citizenship enters into force, by which Ukraine recognizes dual citizenship with a number of countries - the USA, Canada, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. Citizens of the specified countries can, after obtaining the citizenship of Ukraine, bypass this restriction and buy land on a general basis, like other Ukrainians.
Amendments to postpone this possibility for 3 or 5 years were rejected.

We note that according to the land legislation of Ukraine currently in force, the sale of agricultural land to foreign citizens and foreign legal entities may be possible only after its positive approval in the all-Ukrainian referendum.
The limit on the purchase of agricultural land in "single hands" for both citizens and legal entities of Ukraine, and from January 16, 2026, also for foreigners who will acquire Ukrainian citizenship in accordance with the law of Ukraine on multiple citizenship, is 10,000 hectares.
